A STUDY ABOUT THE MAINTENANCE OF CITY PAVEMENTS AND THEIR DETERIORATION.

After a brief historical review of pavements and the functional classification of the city road network, city pavements, material, types of surface, superficial features depending on the use of the project are dealt with; the different types of maintenance and a required system of management for its maintenance lead to a comprehensive catalogue of deterioration types and their corresponding and more convenient fixing procedures, where it is difficult not to find what you are looking for, and it ends with a section dealing with channels, so scarcely dealt with in the existing bibliography and that so many troubles might indeed cause when they are not being correctly executed and replaced.

2.- PAVEMENTS OF THE URBAN ROAD NETWORK

From a functional classification of the urban road network, the conditions to be met by the urban pavements are described as well the materials most convenient to be used according to the use of the road in question.

3.- MAINTENANCE OF THE URBAN PAVEMENTS.

6.- CANALIZATIONS IN PUBLIC STREETS.

The importance of the influence exerted on the conservation budgets by the costs related to the reparations to be made because of the deteriorations to be found in canalizations is being commented upon, not only due to its bad execution but also because of the impression it conveys as if we were dealing with a "patch" to be seen in sideways as well as in roadways. Finally, in order to avoid this problem if possible, a series of recommendations have been presented aiming at the opening and replacement of canalizations in public streets.
